BOOKED!

Schedule Varies

BOOKED! is a music series we host at YBB to showcase bands and musical artists from our local music scene and the greater surrounding area. Our mission with this is to provide an all ages alternative for musicians and avid listeners to give/experience performances in a cozier, more intimate setting.

If you are performing artists feel free to message us about playing in the store!

Chess Club

Every Wednesday, 5 PM

All ages, all skill levels, all… star? Come and join us every Wednesday from 5 to close. People play chess downstairs, upstairs, anywhere you want. Probably not the bathroom.

Don’t know how to play? We’re glad to teach you! Every good chess nerd knows the only way to get better is to get beat… a lot.

I’m still getting better.

Hook and Needle Club

Every Thursday, 5 PM

Do you knit? Crochet? Embroider? Weave? If it’s portable, creative, and involves thread or yarn, bring it on by. Make yourself comfortable wherever.

The store fills up with kind, collaborative, chill people and soft things and we love the cozy comfy vibe.

Business Book Club

Last Tuesday of the Month, 5:30 - 6:30

Sam’s very critical of business books and hates how many of them are essentially “Here’s how I got lucky and you can too.” That’s why every month, we read a practical book about a generally applicable business concept and meet at River City Coffee + Goods to talk about it.

Sometimes it’s just dunking on things we disagree with the author about, sometimes it’s sharing how we’re applying the principals from the book into our own business.

Sam likes to use specific examples from the bookstore when discussing the books, so it’s also a good look behind the curtain!

Midwest Writer's Guild

Second Tuesday of the Month, 6:30-7:30

The Midwest Writer’s Guild has been around a whole lot longer than we have, but have settled upstairs on the second Tuesday of every month.

Writers sometimes come a little early to work on their new pieces before the meeting starts, there’s usually a speaker to talk about a specific aspect of writing, and lots of peers want to talk to you about whatever you’re currently working on.
